The Dress

This is the AMAZING Vera Wang Diana 'LUXE' dress, from her Classics collection.

This was my absolute dream dress, worn for my wedding in April 2014.

It photographed like a dream, and so many of our guests said it just seemed to have a life of its own. The lush folds of material on the skirt meant that the dress always looked different, depending on the lighting and angle from which you looked at it. That really appealed to me.

It was totally opposite to the wedding dress I originally had in mind, but once I tried it on, no other dress compared in the slightest. It is so elegant and timeless, but the unusual skirt adds a bit of modernity and edge. It has a beautiful dropped waist, which looks fantastic if you have a pear body shape like me.

This dress was purchased in 2013 at the Vera Wang San Francisco store. I will be selling it along with my cathedral length Vera Wang ivory veil (pictured), and the dress' matching ivory sash (not pictured). I also purchased a one hoop petticoat here in Brisbane to keep the fabric off my legs and make it easier to walk. I would be happy to include this petticoat, if requested.

The crystal belt shown in the photos is unfortunately NOT for sale.

This is a totally unaltered (measurements-wise) US size 8, which is equivalent to an AU size 10.

Here in Brisbane I had bra cups sewn into the dress for more shape and support. I am quite tall at 5'11 and wore flat shoes on the day. The dress is the maximum length possible without purchasing extra length, so it would be perfect for a shorter bride who intends on wearing heels. If it is still too long, the folds could be pinned up to create more volume. It really is a blank canvas that can be taken in/up according to your needs.

The dress was probably an inch or so too big around my waist on the day, but it was easily concealed by wearing the belt.

I recently paid $500 to have the dress drycleaned by the recommended bridal drycleaner in Brisbane. It has been professionally boxed and preserved. I would recommend having the dress steamed before wearing to remove the creases from drycleaning/boxing. There are minor signs of wear on the bottom of the train fabric, but nothing that would be noticeable once on.
