The Dress
This dress is from Reem Acra's recent Celebration Collection and I wore it for my wedding in September, 2021. It was such a stunning gown! Ive received countless comments on how unique it was while still being a timeless styled wedding gown from both guests at our wedding and others who have seen photos of our big day! When choosing a wedding dress, this one stood out to me with the intricate pleating around the bodice, as well as the unique design and texture of the fabric in the silk brocade. With the color being creme it is just ivory enough to not be blindingly white while not giving a yellow effect ivory can have at times - it truly was the perfect wedding white!
The photos attached are from our photographer (Ive cropped and blurred out faces for privacy). StillWhite only allows a few photos per listing, but I am happy to send more pictures to interested buyers and to answer any questions you may have.
The dress is in nearly perfect condition - The wedding was on a dock at a yacht club, so the dress was worn over wooden floor, concrete floor, and dry grass (only for 20 minutes for photos). There is some minor pilling around the bottom of the lining (absolutely invisible when wearing the dress) just from walking over the concrete and wooden floors for 6 hours (normal wear you'd find on any wedding gown). It has been professionally cleaned. There is absolutely no damage, pulled threads, fraying anywhere on the dress- I have checked every inch of it.
I purchased the dress from Elizabeth Johns Bridal in Ardmore, PA outside of Philadelphia in late August, 2020 for $7,800 (that is without the tax included) Not included in the $7,800 - I paid $150 extra to have the matching buttons added to the back of the dress from the top down to the waist from the designer when it was made. Also not included in the $7,800 was the alterations which were roughly $1,300 without tax. Im happy to present receipts upon request, and would love for another bride to be able to enjoy this special gown as much as I did!
Alterations
It has been expertly tailored at Elizabeth Johns where the gown was purchased (I spent $1,300 on tailoring) to graze the ground perfectly for someone who is 5'7" with shoes (I am 5'6 and wore Manolo Blahnik Hangisi Flats that day for reference). I did have the tailor remove the long train length having it cut to be a "sweep" length so I would not have to bustle the dress at all the day of the wedding (I used a cathedral length veil to give the illusion of a flowing train during the ceremony and it worked perfectly!) With that, they did remove the long train layer of tulle from under the dress. The tailor also added pockets, bra "hooks" inside to keep your undergarments close to your dress preventing a gap, and created an V-Shaped back to mimic the front of the gown vs. the harsh straight back it originally was made with. The dress was never taken in or opened anywhere from the originally ordered sizes so it is true to the bridal size 20 it was made at.
