The Story

My stunning Ivy & Aster dress was everything I had hoped for on my wedding day. It's shape is so flattering and I felt incredibly feminine. The colour is a soft ivory which would be perfect for any skin tone. The unique lace is certainly the highlight and this sets it apart from so many lace dresses currently in style. I have never seen anything else like it.

What I loved was that it was extremely comfortable to wear. It was so easy to move and I had no issues feeling restricted to enjoy my day - I could even manage the bathrooms on my own!

The weight is beautiful so would be suitable for brides in a warmer seasoned wedding with no problems. I married in February on the Sunshine Coast and it breathed beautifully and I don't recall sweating at all.

It would be suitable for both a formal or more relaxed dress code. I wore it in a formal setting (dress code - my husband wore a tuxedo) but we celebrated in a casual environment by the beach - so it was perfect for both needs!

The dress was made-to-order, purchased while I was travelling in the US. I was fit as a size 8 but leading up to my wedding I had lost a little extra weight and needed it taken in. So it would be between a 6-8. It has sewn in bust cups that could be removed if required.

Sale price includes the removable belted sash which was my addition. It could be worn without the sash, or with another belted option.

It has been professional dry-cleaned by a specialist in Melbourne and is in good condition. There is some minor discolouration at the hemline from being on the ground and a small hole just above the hem. These can both be easily resolved by taking up the hem a fraction (there is plenty of length as I am 5ft8 and wore 4 inch heels so there is a lot of fabric to play with); there is also a small tear at the underarm which would be easily mended - I am a fashion designer and confident that the dress can be easily amended for these issues. I can provide images and chat further about these. It is for these reasons that it is heavily reduced.

The dress will come in its box and tissue.

I also have a Italian Silk Cathedral Veil I would also consider selling to the right buyer - it's incredibly precious - it was handmade by a friend using the most beautiful silk - It cost $300 for the fabric. I would be open to discussions for price. It has the simple bobby pin loops to attach to your hair.

The dress was purchased for US$2420 (approx AU$3050 at the time), and I am selling for AU$1200. I do not hold the receipt as I never originally intended to sell.

This gown is available to try on at Mount Coolum QLD (obviously brides-to-be must be makeup and tan free).
