The Dress

Stunning dress! Initially I had picked a floaty, ethereal dress for my July 2023 wedding, but as a 45 year old, 2nd time bride, it just didn't feel like the right vibe. This dress is sexy and sophisticated (I was told it gave me a "Pippa butt," like Kate Middleton's sister at Kate's wedding!), but it still felt special, like a wedding dress should. The bead work is really exquisite, and the beads are softer in terms of color -soft white and pearly (not metallic). I can't emphasize how comfortable this dress is and how easy it was to move around and dance.

The dress is part of Provonias's Saint Patrick "White One" Line.

Purchased in 2023 (worn July 2023).

Alterations

1. The skirt was hemmed for my height. I removed the train because there were no good bustle options (despite using an expert seamstress). The fabric pulled no matter how we tried it and it looked really silly with the pulled-bustle, so we made the skirt go to my feet in the front and then the back is a few inches longer. I am 5"4 and wore 2.5" heels. Certainly, you could hem the skirt so that it is the same length all around.
2. The bodice was completely sheer and you could see the cups! We added a beige (nude for me) liner that you really couldn't see at all but made a world of difference.
3. There is a mesh at the sides, under the arms, that we lowered a bit as it was cutting into me.
4. We lowered the mesh in the front as I didn't like the look of it when it was so high.
5. We took in the shoulder straps a bit.
6. We took in about 1/4" on either side of the hips because the fabric was gathering.
We did not adjust waist at all.
