The Dress
A few notes that might not be obvious from the photos: there are illusion panels along the sides and in the front (it is otherwise a very deep V!). There are also many layers of tulle and the second to topmost layer has floral details made in glitter. The dress is very shimmery but a little subtly so because it's not the topmost layer, and that's what I think makes it so beautiful. I went with a couple friends who work in fashion and this was the dress they liked best.
Alterations
Important! I had the dress modified to take in the waist, so it might fit more like a 2 or 4. The dress was altered with an interior waistband (completely invisible) that helps to secure the dress so it's not just pulling from the shoulders. It was super comfortable to wear during my first dance and reception. We had the shoulder straps taken in a little as well, and of course hemmed. The person who worked on my alterations retired from a life of working on Met Gala dresses and did a wonderful job.
