The Dress

I wore the DARCY dress from the "LUXE" KAREN WILLIS HOLMES collection with detachable DIAMOND train for a few hours for the ceremony and photos, and without train for the reception.

Note: the train has been sold separately. This listing is for the dress only.

On my wedding day, I felt special, glamorous and confident. The dress is highly decorative and embellished with sequins and beading, and are expertly placed to flatter the figure and looks exquisite in photos.

The bodice is firm offering a supportive and secure fit. The top sequin layer skims the lining which flatters the figure. I found the lining fabric's slight stretch very comfortable. The skirt has a slight flare and together with the sweetheart neckline and and low "v" back (that I had customized), the overall silhouette is slightly mermaid extremely flattering. I had endless compliments on the night and after and I am thrilled with how the dress turned out in photos.

The dress comes with a fine beaded belt with the same lattice beading as the dress - which perfectly hides the train ribbon and clasp to appear to be one dress. I love that I could have a completely different look between ceremony and reception without having to change dress. The train comes off very easily - a completely stress free experience for myself and bridesmaids.

Alterations to Darcy dress were made by KWH boutique in Armadale, Melbourne (see below for detail) to improve the fit.

Note - the dress lining stitching has come apart at the back but this is not visible when worn - there is no tare in the actual fabric, so would be easy for any alteration tailor or seamstress to sew (this was confirmed by specialist bridal dry cleaner).

* The dress and train were dry cleaned by specialist Syndal's Bridal Dry Cleaners in Melbourne for $500, packaged up beautifully in original garment bag. I have original copy of the dry cleaning receipt.

SIZE & FIT
The fit of this dress is that it looks like a tailored wedding dress, but by beading the sequins onto the bias cut skirt, these dresses have flexibility in the fit and will accommodate many different body shapes. Because of the flexibility of the fit, this should reduce the amount of alteration work required to fit the dress to your liking. Due to the weight of the sequin, this allows the dress to skim the body in a figure flattering way.

- Lowered back to "V" shape that follows the existing detail
- Added cups for support
- Spaghetti straps shortened so they wouldn't slip
- Shortened dress to my height (166cm with heels)
- Bustle added
