WATTERS ALICE WEDDING DRESS
From the Designer: Playing with the graphic nature of embroidered lace, this design expertly uses negative space to create figure-flattering lines along its sleek silhouette. In motion, the flared skirt and long train add ethereal drama, while the corset construction of the sweetheart bodice creates a fitted feel. Chapel train. This gown is meticulously crafted by Watters. With 30 years experience designing dresses, Vatana Watters draws upon the rich heritage of fashion masters like Balenciaga and Lanvin. I'm selling my wedding dress worn once and professionally cleaned and is in "like new" condition. It has boning corset construction (which is great if you have some curves!) but is extremely comfortable, light and naturally elegant. It's great if you want a dress that looks weightless yet holds you in so you don't have to wear tight undergarments. I purchased at a boutique bridal salon in CA, and had minor alterations prior to my wedding. I added a Watters brand, beaded motif, 'Merritt' Sash in Vanilla Bean (just the hand-beaded part) to add some vintage sparkle. It is absolutely gorgeous with a European flair.
I loved this dress and got A MILLION compliments on it and would love to pass it along to someone that will love it just as much!
I paid full price + a few hundred for the sash embellishment plus tax. Asking $1,000 so more than 50% off. Thanks for your consideration and let me know if you have any questions or want more photos.
Alterations
I had the length hemmed even though I’m 5’9” and was wearing 2” heels, and the bust area taken in a bit so it wouldn't gap. I had light cup padding sewn in for natural volume, which can easily be taken out. The dress is bustled in the back.
I separately purchased a Watters 'Merritt' Sash in Vanilla Bean (at several hundreds of dollars), to add some vintage pizzazz and sparkle to the lace dress. My seamstress attached just the hand-beaded motif to the original satin sash. It was sewn onto the dress sash slightly off-center and can be removed but I think it makes the dress stand out against other lace options.
