The Dress

This Morilee 8288 Lynette lace wedding dress features a fit and flare silhouette, with cap sleeves to frame the elegant neckline and has a circular cut out back. Frosted lace appliques decorate the dress, which ends in an eyelash-scalloped hem and court train. Self-covered buttons conceal the back zipper.

The dress is in ivory with a champagne underlayer. I bought the dress in 2019 for a wedding in 2019.

The dress is UK size 8. I paid £1497 for the dress and spent £300 on alterations.

I absolutely loved wearing this dress on our wedding day and had many compliments about the detail and intricate design.

The dress has been professionally dry cleaned shortly after our wedding and is perfectly clean. I have it stored in a presentation box with acid free paper and have the original Morilee dress bag. The dress is kept in a smoke and pet free house.

Alterations

• Hem shortened for my height - I am 5’ 4 and wore 3’ heels
• Cups sown into the bust – which could easily be removed
• Darts sown into either side of the bust to take it in – could easily be let out again
• Neckline was slightly lowered
• A bustle was added to the back so the train could be taken up for dancing

The bottom two buttons at the back of the dress did come off whilst dancing and using the bustle (see photo). They could easily be replaced but are hardly noticeable as there are so many buttons at the back.
