The Dress

My wedding was a fairytale and I have nothing but incredible memories in this dress. I hope that it can provide you with the same level of joy on your special day!

I tried on a TON of dresses, and immediately fell in love with this one the minute that I put it on. It is elegant, comfortable, sexy, and matched the forest theme of my wedding. This dress is super flattering, and will hug all of your curves in just the right way. It includes a beautiful, dramatic train, which is easy to carry when walking, and has a 9-point French bustle that allows you to pin up the dress for dancing. When I tried it on at the bridal store, I was roughly a size 8-10 (size 28 jeans), but they told me to order a size 12 since Lovers Society dresses run on the small side. It's also easier to alter a larger dress than to expand a dress that's too tight. If you are a size 8 or smaller, I recommend this dress, since it will still hug your curves, and give your tailor some extra room to make it fit your body. The material is thick and heavy, but has some stretch to it. However, due to the lacing, if it's too tight, the material will pull the fabric and make ripples, so make sure it's not too small for you.

As for alterations, I wore the dress with flats, so I had the length hemmed. I also had some of the straps and bodice taken in as well to fit my silhouette. The tailor did an amazing job and added a gorgeous 9-point French bustle for dancing. I wore it without a bra, but used some boob tape to give my breasts some lift, and also wore spanx, which my seamstress ensured stayed up all day and night without needing any adjustments by adding small hooks to the spanks, and invisible small loops on the inside of the dress to hold them in place.

My wedding was outdoors, and the reception was on grass (see photos). The dress did get some dirt on the hem line, but no grass stains, spills, or any other marks. Immediately after my wedding, I took the dress to a professional cleaner to get it dry cleaned for $250. The cleaner did a great job restoring the dress to its original state, but there is small hint of discoloration (light gray/beige) at the very bottom of the front hemline from the reception (not the train). You could (1) take it back to the dry cleaner to see if they can try to remove it, (2) if you're shorter than me, you could hem this portion of the dress, or (2) keep it as-is, since it's not very noticeable/won't show up in photos, and trust me, your dress will also get super dirty on your big day! It has remained in its original bag ever since (more photos available upon request via chat!).
