The Dress

This was the first dress I ever tried on when wedding dress shopping and I just fell in love!

Funnily, I had planned to go for a mermaid dress and as the store put a few into the changing room I walked passed this huge ballgown skirt poking out from the racks on my way into the dressing room and it caught my eye!
I said I wanted to try that on for fun just to see and get it out of my system that I at least tried a ballgown on before all the mermaid styles.
Then BAM! It sold me straight away, it was so snug because of the inner band and hugged so well and the skirt was sooooo light, the pockets also was a MAJOR bonus.
I was done. I bought the first dress I tried on- nothing else I tried after felt anywhere near as comfortable!
Did I mention the pockets?!
And the inner band?!

Originally the Farah dress from pronovias was off the shoulder but I converted it to a strapless because I LOVED the skirt so much but didn’t like the structured off shoulder neckline due to my tattoos and wanting to show off my décolletage.
I also seemed to see so many people get married in this dress and it didn’t look special anymore so i bit the bullet and made the change, I’m so glad I did!
The major adjustment cost the same as the dress.

I absolutely love the dress to death especially since I spent about 7k on it and go so many compliments of the bodice fit. But I know it will just stay in the closet in a box If I don’t resell it, this dress needs to be loved again! I don’t plan on having another wedding (fingers crossed) so I’d love to see the alterations of this beautiful dress not go to waste!

The bustle button and two others fell off on the night due to some children stepping on the dress but 2 buttons are kept and one can be moved up from the lowest button

Alterations

Done by the amazing seamstresses at eternal weddings,
-Waist got brought in and professionally, hand stitched
-structured off shoulder neckline changed to structured sweetheart strapless
-hemmed
-bustled
