The Dress

OVERVIEW
Beautiful La Perle by Calla Blanche wedding dress with watercolor floral print on white organza. It is a very unique dress that is an extremely flattering A-Line with a sweetheart neck and off-the-shoulder sleeves. The dress can be worn with the small sleeves (as I wore in the photos) or with the detachable long sleeves (as the modal is wearing in the photos). In the back, it has a long train with buttons (only style, not usable) all the way down the train and in the front, it has a slit on the right side of the dress so you can show some leg if you want to.

MY EXPERIENCE
I knew from the minute I put this dress on it was the one. I felt like all other wedding dresses were the same and boring (white, lace, uncomfortable fabric and fit), but this one was so flattering because of the neckline, off-the-shoulder sleeves, and A-Line fit. I knew I wanted a dress with a slit since I like to show off my legs and this one did just that, but it also allowed me to hide them when I wanted to for photos. The style snatches your waist line and hid any insecurities I had about my stomach. The color is subtle enough that it isn't an obviously blue dress, but it has way more fun detail than a normal dress. Every time I showed people my dress leading up to the wedding they were extremely excited about the color and style in general.

SIZING
This is a size 10. I typically wear an 8-12 in dresses and consider myself to have broad shoulders. I weigh 145LBS and am 5'4". I wore 3.75” shoes and the dress is tailored to that height. I have an athletic body type (no curves). I wear a bra size 38B and there was little to no gaping in the top. I think you could have slightly larger or small breasts and they would fit in this dress without tailoring.

CONDITION
The dress was worn all night but sustained very little wear. It has since been dry-cleaned and they were able to remove any dirt from the bottom of the dress. There is one small rip (3 inches) on the top layer of fabric, along the buttons of the train where the bustle came undone throughout the night. This will be very easy for your tailor to fix when you go have them re-do the bustle and do any other tailoring. Even as is, no one would notice the rip, but I'm sure you will want to have it fixed when your tailor makes the bustle right for you. Professionally dry cleaned immediately after the wedding.

Alterations

I had it shortened in the front so that the dress met the ground with me in 3.75” heels, I am 5'4". The train was minimally altered so it is a few inches less long. The tailor also added short strings at the top of the slit (hidden under dress), so that I could optionally tie it so the slit would be more/less prominent. No alterations in the body of dress. The shortening + bustle cost $250.
