The Dress

This dress was meant for a princess and somehow ended up being for me. It hugged me in all the right places, is classically beautiful with lace, but still modern with the V-neck. I absolutely love this dress, and it made me feel so loved by my husband and guests, who still gush over it to this day.

This Olaya gown is such a high quality, retails for just under $4,000. It has such intricate lace layered with tulle, the train is my absolute favorite part of it. The bodice itself is simplistic and elegant, but the train makes a statement walking down the aisle, which was exactly what I wanted.

As far as it's usage, I wore this dress twice (separate ceremony & reception days), both times with flats. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that there is a small wire on the inside hip that scratched me a bit on the day, it would likely need to be repaired by the seamstress, but it's so minor I could likely do it myself with a simple cover-up patch. I've had it drycleaned after the reception, so it's basically brand new.

I am myself extremely frugal, and I know how expensive weddings can be. I splurged on a dress and I want a new bride to feel just as special without spending all the money I did. I hope someone takes it and rocks it all the way down the aisle.

Alterations

I purchased this dress in a size 10 and had it altered down to about a size 6. There is an intricate bustle already sewn in (many layers in the train). I'm 5'7" and weighed 140 lb on the day of my wedding. I wore flats for the ceremony and tennis shoes for the reception, so the height is true.
