The Dress

The Mercer by Lela Rose from the Spring 2022 collection. It is a Daisy Jacquard Column Gown with Dramatic Detachable Watteau Train in Soft White. I purchased it directly from the Lela Rose showroom in New York City.

It was the dress of my dreams and I received an endless number of compliments on it! The detachable bow is so architectural and chic, and the best part is that you can bustle it and it looks incredible! There are non-functioning buttons down the back, but they were covered by the bow for the most part. It was SO comfortable to wear, easy to sit in and easy to dance in. The gown is gorgeous even without the bow, if you choose to wear it that way. The fabric is so unique, beautiful and high quality.

It was professionally dry cleaned immediately after the wedding. The bow was bustled almost the entire event and is in great condition.

I am a street size 2 (smaller on top than on the bottom) and am 5'5" but wore 3 inch heels at my wedding. I had the dress altered to fit me. I have unpadded cups/liners (similar to bathing suit cups) sewn into it that would be easy to remove, but I felt that it provided some nice definition. Happy to share any other photos.

Alterations

This was a split size gown. 2 on the top, 4 in the waist, 6 in the hips, but I had the dress taken in a bit in each of those places to fit me correctly. The seamstress remarked that it was one of the easiest dresses to alter.
