The Dress

This gown was made especially to go with the tiny pill hat (Also for sale) that my friend who makes headpieces/crowns for the QLD ballet was making for a photoshoot. All of the fabric was sourced sustainably through my mentors at MXM Couture. The heavily beaded lace from Europe is so stunning up close with so much detail in the bead work and the stretch crepe has buoyancy and is a lovely texture and ivory colour.
The fabric has a bit of stretch in it so it definitely will give a little for someone with larger hips than the given measurement. There is no support built in so it would suit someone with smaller bust unless you had a special backless corset made to go under it. The skirt is super long so it can be easily altered to fit a woman of any height and the skirt would need to be fitted more if the bride wasn't very tall so that it hugged in the right places and flattered her body.
The dress does up with a strip of hook and eyes for a close fit and no need to worry about a popping zipper.
The stylish detachable sleeves and long structural train give the dress an avant-garde style with a lot of hand sewing couture detail.

This dress could easily be shortened into a 3/4 40's length cocktail dress to be enjoyed and worn again making it even more sustainable. Also the lampshade sleeves are detachable and would look fabulous with plenty of cocktail looks.
