The Dress

I fell in love with the Grace Loves Lace Behati gown - but felt uneasy spending $4200 on something that I was unable to try on prior to buying (as its buy online only!)

So I decided to get a Tailor to make my own version. I absolutely loved it as while it is similar to the Grace Loves Lace Bahati gown, it is also totally unique & one of a kind. It was so comfortable to wear & easy to move it. We got married in January in NSW & it was also comfortable in the heat. This dress is suitable for a size 6-12.

The Top -
The top is square neck on the front & back & is made from a supportive material - basically like a sports bra so there is no need to wear a bra with it as it has total support. It also means it stretches so would accomodate a size 6-12. I am not flat chested so I really wanted the support & was concerned with the Behati Gown where I would fit a bra as it's backless! The top has hand stitched flowers & patterns from the lace on it.

The Sleeves -
The Sleeves are 3/4 length and are done up by a button on the bottom of the sleeve - meaning you can pull your arms in easily & then do them up.

The Skirt -
The skirt is made from 3 layers which gives it a lovely shape. It has been made to be shorter at the front for walking, and longer at the back so it billows out slightly. I am 5'5 and wore heels for the ceremony to make me around 5'8. It is done up by a zip on the waistband. The only fitted part on the skirt is the waistband - so that could be easily tailored to fit any size.

The Condition -
The dress has only been worn once for our legal ceremony. It has been dry cleaned & is back to new. The flowers on the top are delicate so avoid steaming it.
