The Dress

Perfect gown for someone who is quite petite on top but has some curves and a bit of booty at the bottom (like me!). This dress skims hips but still offers great lines and a beautiful cut that will show off your shape in a sophisticated way.

It is made from a satin-finished fabric, which gives it some structure and weight, and offers a pearly effect which catches the light.

I chose this dress as I wanted something simple and elegant (my starting point was to channel Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy vibes - clean and classic and fresh!) whilst still feeling like I was wearing something special and unique. I also wanted to be able to move and dance in it, and feel comfortable and like ‘myself’ on the day.

It is a floor length gown that flows through to a spilling train at the back. My plan was to have the original skirt altered to hug more around my legs, and to shorten the train to make the skirt more ‘mermaid’ in look overall. They beauty of this gown in its current form is that you do have options to narrow the skirt’s cut, remove the train, change the hemline, or skirt length altogether, etc. depending on your specific body shape and tastes. The fabric and design of the skirt allows for this, so you can still put your own spin on things and make this dress your own. Really, that is what this range from KWH is designed for!
