The Dress

This gorgeous Newhite LDG dress has been worn twice and still has so much life to give! It is a size 4 but has been altered to fit a street size 0/XS. It has been professionally cleaned. The outer tulle is a bright white, and the under layer is an off-white; it photographs as a clean white. The left sleeve can be worn on or off the shoulder. The overskirt/train is unique in that it is actually 4 separate pieces of fabric that are more square shaped than circular, which creates really cool angles and train shape. This dress is a showstopper!

Alterations

1. Altered down to fit the measurements listed
2. Hemmed to 5'7.5". I'm 5'4" and my shoes were 3.25" tall
3. The dress originally comes without any tulle on the left cup (just the white under-fabric). It has been altered so the full bodice is covered in the tulle; both cups match now. (see photo)
4. A dart was placed on the tulle piece that sticks up over the right cup to help it stay more upright and structured. It still moved and looks natural, but it keep it in place.
5. Darts were also added to connect the 4-piece over skirt. Each piece is connected to the neighboring piece with one dart. This keeps it somewhere together so the underskirt doesn't show, but the whole thing still moves freely. The darts could be removed.
5. The bustle: This was a challenging dress to bustle, but the end result was clever, easy, and effective. Along the waist and 2/3 of the way down the skirt, 7 ribbons of tulle were sewn on (see photo). You simply find the mates and tie them together. It held all night and looked great! I was worried you would be able to see the ribbons before it was bustled, but you really couldn't- nobody will notice.
