The Dress

*Please note the first pic with the model is showing the dress in color "ivory over cashmere." My dress was made into "ivory over ivory" and the original dress has a sheer bustier bodice, but I opted to order the dress with a lined bodice in the same ivory fabric for a bit more coverage.*

This was definitely the first dress I tried on that made me emotional with tears--it was surreal to see myself as a bride! I continued to try on other dresses after this one, but always came back to it. I actually found this dress with my sister who lives out of state whom I don't get to see very often, which made it all the more special. I wanted a romantic dress with some shimmer and intricate details, specifically on top that carried down to the skirt/train and gradually faded away, which I actually struggled a lot to find. But this dress certainly fit that criteria! I received so many compliments the day-of and of course, my now-husband was also blown away.

The bustier bodice itself was very comfortable and fit like a glove--I did not worry about my dress slipping down. The skirt is actually a total of 5 layers of tulle and fabric which gives it its effortless volume without weighing me down, allowing me to dance the night away. The straps can be tucked into the bodice if you want to throw those hands up in the air! The chapel train can be easily bustled (added by my tailor). I opted for a simple ivory waltz length veil to show off the skirt and train details, which I will include for free.

Adapted from the JLM Couture/Ti Adora by Allison Webb listing: A plunging sweetheart, off-the-shoulder drape sleeve, natural waist sparkle net and tulle a-line gown. Intricate metallic and beaded floral appliqué throughout the bustier bodice, cascading past the natural waist and sprinkled about the skirt that is finished with a horsehair trim.

A few small flaws:
✨ The dress has been professionally dry cleaned, but there still a few small wine spots on the underside of the dress train. They are not noticeable when the dress is being worn.
✨ My tailor sewed in 3 small buttons and loops for my bustle--one button fell off during dry-cleaning and left a small hole in the topmost layer of tulle. It is not noticeable when the dress is being worn.
✨ While dancing the night away, one end of a strap became loose--nothing a safety pin couldn't fix for the rest of the reception though! The strap can be easily sewn back on.
