The Dress

About the dress:
My wedding dress is a Ria Tener Helen Gown. It was purchased as a EU size 42/ US size 12 / UK size 14. It is a fit and flare style dress, with off the shoulder sleeves. There is some beige 'netting' between the bust, and a beaded on 'belt. Here is a link to the dress on the designers website - https://www.riatener.com/simply-avis-2021/helen. You can see how the dress is bustled in the last photo. This dress is made in a crepe material and the dress is white.

How the dress made me feel and how it fit:
This dress made me feel amazing! I loved, loved, loved wearing it and felt so beautiful in it. Starting from the top - the off the shoulder really suited me and the sweetheart shape to the neckline I thought was really flattering. With it being off the shoulder, it does somewhat limit your arm movement. I could hug people and do my first dance and Father-Daughter dance, however, I did change into a shorter dress to really be able to lift my arms over my head. The dress has built in bra cups, so I did not wear a bra - the cups were very comfortable, but you do need to be able to fill them or you would need a bit of bra padding. The beaded belt is attached to the dress and I think complements it really well. I matched the beading on my veil somewhat to the belt and that looked really nice. There is a zip on the size, but because the dress is crepe it really has a lot of space in the dress and it forms to your body, so the zip does not feel confining in any way. The 'skirt' of the dress flowed really nicely and I loved the length of the train. The colour of it is white (not off white, etc.) and I loved that - it really looks great in person and in photos and complements a tan. Overall, the dress was very comfortable. I could easily sit in it, eat in it, dance in it!

Alterations

The alterations this dress has was on the length. I am 5'8 (maybe 5'8 and 1/2) and you can see in the photos how it skimmed the ground. I was wearing the Badgley Mischka Cher, which has a 3.75 inch heel. There were also some little alterations done on the 'skirt' to make it fall nicely. The dress was also was altered, so that it can be bustled. The button for the bustle is on the inside of the dress, just above the back of the knee.
