The Dress

This dress could not have been more perfect for my big day. The colour I chose was ivory + latte. The inner-most layer is the latte colour, and then there is a layer of ivory sparkly tulle, topped with a layer of ivory tulle with the gorgeous flower and vine appliqués. The structured bodice with the exposed boning and slightly sheer panels made me feel so beautiful, while also giving enough structure that I could dance the night away without pulling my dress up even once. I had always thought I would never get a strapless dress because I didn't want to worry about my dress moving around, but this dress stayed perfectly in place all night. I was worried that the boning might hurt my sides by the end of the night, but I was pleasantly surprised that it never did!

This dress is so light and easy to move around in. When I was dress shopping, I told my stylist that my one rule was that it has to be comfortable enough that I could run and jump if I wanted to. She definitely delivered. I was not constricted in any way on my wedding day, which meant that I could be totally free to enjoy the day and not have a worry in the world about my dress and what I was able to do in it. I can't imagine my day in another dress - I was eternally grateful to have this one.

There is some dirt along the inside of the innermost layer, where the dress touched the floor. I'm sure this could be dry cleaned out, but I'm not able to get it to the dry cleaners because of my schedule. Even if the dress weren't dry cleaned, it's not really possible to see the dirt from the outside with the layers of tulle covering it, which are not dirty. No other signs of wear.

Alterations

The dress was taken in in the bodice area, as well as hemmed. I am 5'3 and my heels were 1.5'' tall with a block heel (which I recommend! So comfy the whole day!). I had the train shortened so that I could dance in the dress without having to bustle it, because I don't like the way that that looks. I was able to dance all night without worrying about stepping on it.
