The Dress

This is a beautiful dress. It has an elegant, classy vibe that makes you feel special. It just wasn't the right dress for my wedding...and it ended up being too small. When I bought this dress, I choose to make drastic alterations to make it my own. I had the lace sleeves, train and copious layers of crinoline removed. However, the special details that make this dress stand out remain.

This dress is a mix of modern and classic. The lace top with the deep-V in front and back brings this dress into today. There is a sassy peek-a-boo in the front and the lace pattern has a fun fringed edge. Oh, and there's pockets!!! The pockets are the best feature. The satin skirt with buttons cascading down the back brings in that classic, traditional feel. I had the dress altered to me and I'd say its a street size 6. I'm 5'5", 148 lbs. and typically a size 8; its tight on me. The length was hemmed to accommodate 2.5" heels (plus my height); it just brushes the floor. There is enough crinoline to give the skirt a slight poof.

Another reason this dress didn't work for me is that its a bit heavy; that fantastic satin skirt comes with some weight. My wedding was outside, in the middle of a 90 degree very sunny day. I would have been too hot. However, I still feel special putting on this dress; when I try it on I just want to swish and twirl around. It has an amazing flow. This dress would be great for an elegant evening wedding or spring garden fantasy. My hope is that this beautiful dress finds its purpose in making a bride feel amazing on her wedding day.

Alterations

Lace sleeves, train, and crinoline layers removed. Hemmed to floor length for 5'5" plus 2.5" heels. Fitted to size 6.
