The Dress
I absolutely loved this dress and though it's bittersweet to part ways, I'm excited for this beautiful dress to make a statement and make someone else's wedding day just as special as it made mine. My wedding was in the desert and this dress made me feel like a desert goddess.
The dress has it's usual wear and tear after a wedding but has been professionally dry cleaned. All photos are from my wedding and 3rd pic shows the bustle in action. I can send more photos of current, past, etc on request via messages.
The pricing is also taking into consideration the cost of alterations that I put into the dress. For those deciding whether to buy new, Rue De Seine doesn't make the dress for your height and you'll need serious alterations (the lowest quote I received was $900) if you're on the more petite side (or anyone under 5'10 with heels). I went to 5 different shops before finding someone who would figure out how to hem the dress without just chopping off all the details on the bottom and replace the trim (it ended up costing over 1k but she's a magician and I can't imagine how to make the dress any better!). I can also send a video or two of me in the dress so you can see how it moves.
From the designer:
Sia uses our delicate embroidery on mesh to create a fitted bodice to the low hip before Crochet panels are added using their scallop edge, which hits all the right points on the figure adding movement and spirit to the entire gown as it falls into a full skirt and train. Set in sleeves remain fitted to the elbow before falling into romantic crochet bells with opening to show wrists and add relief.
Alterations
The seamstress who did the bustle and alterations was super detail oriented. I couldn't be happier. She actually lifted the stunning intricate lacework around the original hem and masterfully placed it on the shortened hem (I'm 5'3" with 2-3" heeled boots). She also brought in the sleeves and several other key alterations to make the dress fit beautifully on a smaller frame (the panels for the cups were made smaller, the back panels made smaller, etc.). She created a 7 point bustle that follows the scallop seam of the skirt that flows beautifully. I'll send a video to the buyer that walks you through how to pin it up.
