The Dress

I would wear this dress again in a heartbeat! For as elegant as it looked, I was truly comfortable the entire night (and could have slept in the dress if I really wanted!) Our wedding was outside and I needed a dress that would be formal but still breezy, not too hot for an August wedding and fit with the lush floral landscapes.

The upper portion of the dress is delicate with just the right amount of support: I wanted to be able to breathe freely and dance without having to hold my dress up, nor feel like I was going to bust a seam. At the waist the layers begin (and they are gorgeous!) and despite the volume, not very heavy, especially when bustled.

As for my body type etc..: I am just under 5'8" with an athletic build and long torso. Please review my measurements as the dress has been taken down a size or so.

Wear and Tear: This dress is still in great condition due to the quality of the fabric, and has been dry cleaned. That said, it was worn outdoors, thus there are some minor flaws to the underside of the dress (watch the video and you'll see). If you would be hemming this dress, the flaws would likely be removed in that process.

Alterations

Overall size: I have taken in the overall size of the dress to match my measurements. Please go by my measurements rather than the tag size.

Bustle: I have added a bustle which has three buttons and three ties for the under layers. I'm happy to show you how to bustle it with a video or over a zoom. You can see the dress bustled in the dance floor photo.

Hem: The hem line has been adjusted to accomadate my height just shy of 5'8" and with platform heels of 4.5"
