The Dress

This a beautiful gown with a romantic, yet modern feel. It is, off-shoulder, fitted and has structure in the middle which is flattering and comfortable, then skims over the hips to an a-line skirt. I found it flattering, comfortable and easy to dance in and move. This dress has an amazing and quite unique fabric and the sleeves are very special. I loved that the fabric had a romantic feel like you might see with lace, yet was contemporary being a burnout organza. The dress has been dry cleaned and is in great condition. I cannot see any marks on any parts of the dress that show, there are a few, very slight marks at the bottom of the dress on the lining which cannot be seen when wearing. Taking inspiration from the classic Amelie Gown in from our In the Midst Collection, the Off-the-Shoulder silhouette is fashion forward and contemporary – ideal for the Bride looking to show off the shoulders and décolletage.
The bodice is constructed with internal boning, providing a supported and comfortable fit. With a centre back zipper opening, the bodice is designed to be firm fitting with the relaxed off the shoulder straps and exaggerated puff sleeve. The fluted skirt is fitted over the high hip to flatter and elongate the shape.

Alterations

This dress has been altered to make it a smaller fit. The most significant alteration is to the waist which would now be a best fit for a size 8 or larger size 6 so please keep this in mind if considering. Further details on each alteration can be found below.

- As I am usually in between sizes (usually a 10 on the lower half and 8 on the top half), I had this brought in at the waist.
- I also had the length taken up. I am 165cm tall and the dress falls just above the floor when I wear a 6cm heel (shoes are hidden)
- I also had the train altered and brought in a bit at the sides so that it flowed nicely and didn't get in the way while I walked.
- I've also had bust cups added inside so that the dress could be worn bra free. You can remove these if it's not your preference.
- I've also had loops/discreet ribbons added so that you can tie the train of the dress up when it's time to dance. I had them added both internally and externally, as I couldn't decide which way I preferred, so you can either tie 2 external pieces of fabric together which gives a gathered look or loop to the inside which is a bit more of a clean look
