The Dress

THE DRESS:
Absolutely stunning modern wedding dress from Made with Love. This style, Mila Crepe, was discontinued just after I bought this which is a shame as it is SO unique I haven't seen anything else like it in the market. It was so perfect for our Italian wedding in the Tuscany/Umbria area.

The skirt is made from 100% french crepe in a double layer, and the bodice is french lace with sequins and beading. The dress catches the light beautifully all day long from day light, to golden hour to evening - I was a walking disco ball on the dancefloor. I have so many more pictures and happy to share these.

The dress has been altered to fit me (I'm a size 8 with a small waist and F-FF bust, I'm 5ft1 / 157cm and wore 13cm platform heels with it so it has been hemmed at around 170cm), and customized with added buttons down the back. I also had the front of the bodice lined with nude fabric to hide the cups inside. The cups can be easily removed and changed to suit another cup size.

I wore Mila Crepe with MWL's chiffon wings (https://www.madewithlovebridal.com/shop/veils-accessories/chiffon-wings), which were a lovely modern alternative to a veil. They are also ivory and 3m long. These hook onto the straps with a simple hook & eye (there is two stitches on the straps for these to loop onto, though one needs repairing - very simple job). The material floats and falls so beautifully and is just translucent, so lovely and light.

Condition:
I had the dress and wings professionally cleaned 2 weeks after the wedding and it has been restored to full beauty! The only small flaws - 1) the very edge of the hem is slightly imperfect in colour (not 100% ivory) and 2) there is a small hole near to the edge of the train which I think has been caused by the ember from a sparkler, it's about 5mm in diameter and about 3-4cm from the end of the train. Both of these I think could be completely resolved by having the train shortened very slightly as part of alterations for the next bride.

Alterations I believe would be needed (in summary):
- shorten the train as mentioned in previous paragraph
- repair the stitch hook for the wing on one side if needed
- any fitting alterations

Total paid for the full outfit: dress (£2200) + added buttons (£150) + chiffon wings (£360, now £400).

This dress is unique, modern and glam and would suit any bride looking for simplicity with a touch of drama. The dress without the wings would also make a stunning second dress for an evening reception.
