The Dress

Designer Description:

History:
This dress was purchased from Kleinfeld Hudson's Bay in Toronto, ON in late 2015. The dress was worn on January 23, 2016 and professionally cleaned and pressed in February 2016 by Trillium Cleaning in Etobicoke (receipt available).

My measurements:
I have an "athletic" body type with wide-set hips. The sample size was 10, which fit but a 12 was ordered to allow more alterations to the hip area. I generally wear size 6 or 8 dresses in normal life.

Comments:
This dress is incredibly comfortable to wear. Keep in mind you cannot tighten the waist too much as it is a corset style to begin with. I received many compliments from Guests and Venue staff on how unique the dress is! The sides of the dress (waist down) are gradually more sheer. I wore a nude thong and it was not visible.

Dress can be viewed weekdays after 6 PM or anytime weekends in Toronto, ON.

Alterations were done by the Kleinfeld in-house seamstresses, with a total cost of $1000. There were a total of 3 fittings, involving:
- Taking in the waist quite a bit
- Many alterations for hip area to tighten up and reduce "folds"
- Inserting a bodice (the top half of the dress was sheer lace) +$200
- Reducing the straps
- Hemline for 3 " heels, so that heel peeks out from dress
- Adding a French bustle
