The Dress

Purchased at Saks Fifth Avenue Beverly Hills from Oscars personal assistant. The gown I purchased in 2009 and wore in 2022. At purchase Saks sends gowns to their NY location to be packed in acid free paper preserving it until your wedding day fittings. Thirteen years of storing I was able to put it right on and go for my fittings. No cleaning was required. My fittings and alteration were done with Oscars exclusive couture seamstress to their Melrose atelier. I have dry cleaned it with Vans Dry Cleaners in Corona Del Mar. They are exceptional. I did not spill, there are no stains. I cleaned for body oils and hemline from walking outside during photos. I’m happy to sell my cathedral length veil at a separate price, made by the same Oscar seamstress which she shaped to mimic the shape of the gown. I love my gown but it is too beautiful to sit it’s useful life in a box nor do I have daughters to pass it to. The fabric is silk faille. It’s simple elegance. Easy to wear. After all, how can you go wrong with an Oscar. Too it was one of the last collections he designed before he couldn’t work anymore due to cancer.
