The Dress

Beautiful Jenny Yoo Meredith gown with detachable sleeves. Purchased from Halo & Wren Bridal store in Hemel Hempstead. Worn once on 28 July 2023 between 1pm - 7pm.

I am a size 10 with 34C bust and 5’6 in height. I haven’t posted my measurements as I lost weight for the wedding and am probably nearer a 12 at the moment….!

I had this altered by Hind at Alter & Tweak in Teddington. I had two parts of the dress altered - (1) to take the hem up to fit me at 5’6 and (2) to make the internal bra smaller so that it stayed up. Hind said that her alterations to the bra are reversible as she knew I intended to sell it.

Obviously this has been worn, but I had it dry cleaned (costing £300!!!!) at Ducane Dry Cleaners in Richmond, who are specialists in cleaning wedding dresses. It has come up really well, although there are some slight marks/pulls at the bottom of the dress which are unavoidable given it is ivory and floor length! However overall the condition is great (I have included a picture of the train so you can see). I changed into another dress on my wedding day from 7pm onwards, so thankfully spared my dress from any nasty spills or rips during the party!

Best to search online for details about the dress itself. It’s absolutely gorgeous and pains me to sell! My favourite parts were the slight cowl neck front, the tiny fabric buttons that go the full length of the dress and the tulle beneath the bottom of the skirt that gives it a soft flare. It’s a very classic dress. The buttons are just for decoration - there is a hidden zip. The colour is ivory, so has a soft warmth to it and a the fabric is mikado so has a touch of sheen that makes it look glowy (without being as delicate as silk).
