The Dress

This Pronovias Couture gown is iconic. When I bought it the boutique owner gave me a hug and said "you are now the owner of a Pronovias" and we both had tears in our eyes. I wanted something that felt both unique and timeless and she definitely checked both boxes. The pearl peek-a-boo in the front is breathtaking. I still get comments from wedding guests on how incredible (and expensive) this dress looked as I walked down the aisle and danced the night away. The straps on the inside of the dress are so awesome because they keep it snug. I danced so hard and never felt like I needed to hold it up. I had it dry-cleaned immediately and the dry cleaner returned it in a moth-proof bag (seen in the listing). Dry cleaning returned the dress to look like new. The only place I can see that it has not come completely clean is a bit of the underside of the slip underneath. This dress also definitely wrinkles in the bag but it steams to perfection. The dress will be sent in the original dress bag which says "Atelier Pronovias Haute Couture" on the front in gold letters.

Alterations

The dress was altered from a size 8 to the bust, waist and hip measurements provided in the listing. The front of the dress was hemmed a small amount so I wouldn't trip on it, although it still floor length. Some of the buttons up the back lining the zipper were missing when I bought it. I used the replacement buttons sold with the dress to replace the missing buttons when it was altered. All buttons are currently accounted for but there are no extras. An eye hook was added on for a bustle that tucks up under the dress instead of flipping up and hooking on the outside of the dress. The boutique owner was very serious about telling me not to let the bustle be added to make me look like I had a tail. I obeyed orders!
