The Dress

The Galaxy Cape is a new interpretation of the Galaxy dress, which was originally created for the red carpet, featuring a cinched waist and draped neckline inspired by the classic Vivienne Westwood Ball Tie gown. The gown is created in pearl white FSC-certified crepe satin (73% acetate and 27% viscose), with a contrasting silk georgette drape across the décolletage, certified as organic, and 18th-century Watteau style train.

I bought the dress in November 2023 in St Davies store in London and wore it for my wedding in Sorrento in May 2024. What i loved about this dress is that you can wear it in many different ways:
- Church ceremony: cape + sleeves + veil
- Aperitif: cape + sleeves (removed the veil)
- Dinner: removed all accessories and left with a corset dress akin to a red carpet flawless look. There is a cord under the zip where you can also tie up the trail if you plan to dance in it
Pointing out that the detachable sleeves were custom-made by VW in the same silk georgette of the décolletage for more coverage in the church and were absolutely stunning.

I changed in a second dress for the party and the dress was professionally dry cleaned after the event. Some stains could not be fully removed, but are mostly under the train and not visible when worn; similarly for a tear in the veil. Can provide more pictures upon request if needed.

Retail price £7,330 = Galaxy Cape Dress [removed] + Detachable Silk Georgette Ties (£500) + Cathedral Veil with Illusion Tulle (£880). In addition, alterations for tighter corset costed £810 - hence it fits both UK10 and 12.

Alterations

1. Detachable sleeves were custom-made in the same silk georgette of the décolletage for more coverage in the church
2. Corset was made tigher by 2-3cm
3. Lenght 2cm shorter (170cm tall + 6cm heel)
