The Dress

This dress was so fun to wear for my wedding! It is very comfortable, which was a priority for me, as I knew I wanted to wear it at the reception as well as the ceremony. It has a rather deep V cut that is mirrored in the front and back, with beautiful pleating, and a delicate belted detail at the waist. It is well-constructed, feeling secure in the bodice, with a side slit a few inches above the knee. Modest enough for my church wedding, and made me feel absolutely beautiful. Made of an elegant crepe material that flows nicely with movement. It has a ballroom bustle which worked great for dancing, with 3 hooks sewed into the hem and 3 corresponding eyes sewed into the underside of the dress. The only flaw is that one of the bustle hooks is missing as you can see in the last photo (easy fix for a tailor!), which shows an example of the dress partially bustled. I had the dress professionally cleaned and it came out beautifully, with no noticeable discoloration.

Alterations

The original dress had wide circle cut sleeves, which were skillfully removed to make the dress sleeveless. It was also taken in on the bodice from a size 12 to size 8 and hemmed to my height. 5'4" and I wore flats.
