The Dress

A glamorous silk Maggie Sottero dress that epitomises Hollywood glamour! It is a very comfortable ankle-length dress with no train and a lovely swishing action that comes from the flare out from the hips.

Crystal beading gathers the dress on one side, with some decorative crystals down the same side. Fully lined. Worn once for my wedding in 2010 aged 35 and then once again for my 50th birthday this year, although only for one hour! Very beautiful straps that could be removed and used on another dress, worth £100 alone.

Dry cleaned and no flaws on it.

A note on sizing: The dress fits me now with the measurements shown and would be ideal for someone who takes a size 16 in high street clothes: it could also take a larger waist than that so perfect for middle age women who are a little bigger around the tummy, or someone pregnant, but not larger hips than 44 inches (because of the gathering on the side restricting any stretch) and could take the same or smaller breast size due to the corset being adjustable (see below for alterations).

Feather shrug £25 Very glamorous and covers cleavage, gives warmth at night, slight stain on the inside.

Alterations

I had the dress altered to fit me by adding side panels to make it a size 16. These are very easily adjusted any smaller size or taken out to return the dress to its original size of 14. The corset back means the dress is adjustable too, so making it fit you should not be a problem, just leave a bit of time to have it altered if your big day is coming up. I have added straps as I'm big-busted (I'm 38H which is the maximum for the dress, would advise up to 36GG depending on how much cleavage you like!).

I spent nearly £400 altering it, and just want to recoup that cost, so that someone else can enjoy it!
