THE SADIE SKIRT- PREA JAMES

Made from 100% silk satin, this skirt has a flowing fit and flare style with godets in the side seams and centre back. This created a dramatic 30cm train that sweeps the ground. The waistband sits at the true waist.

I found this skirt super comfortable on my wedding day! The silk fabric made for very easy movement without feeling restrictive. For reference, I am generally an AU size 8 or a large AU size 6. I'm 177cm tall and wore 1.5cm kitten heels on my wedding day. The front seam gently skimmed the ground, making it easy to walk in without getting caught up in the full skirt.

Unfortunately it rained on our wedding day! So there are a few marks on the outer of the skirt, primarily on the side godets. I've included a photo (seventh photo) to demonstrate, although these marks are not very noticeable when the skirt is worn due to the fullness of the train. Additionally, the sixth photo shows the front of the dress after dry cleaning post-wedding. There are marks visible on the underside of the skirt - can provide more detailed photos of this upon request.

Since our elopement was overseas, the dress has only been dry cleaned once by the hotel we stayed at. I'd recommend a professional bridal dry cleaner, especially if the marks are a concern. Alternatively, if you are shorter than I am, shortening the hem slightly would easily conceal these marks.

Alterations

Alterations professionally done at Bluebell Bridal in Melbourne.
The skirt was tailored to my measurements. (Waist 67cm, Hips 94cm, Wasit to Height with shoes 112cm.)
Alterations as listed on invoice:
-Take in the waistband
- Take in side seams of skirt
- Shorten hem x 1 layer front only
- Add wrist ribbons (this was added to help lift the train during the first dance)
