The Dress

This wedding dress is the Paradise style by Reem Acra, including the coordinating Dance With Me Veil. This white satin silk wedding gown has exceptional silver toned hand-embroidery & beadwork on bodice with pearl accents and Swarovski crystals on front/back of bodice and length of the gown, there are pleats on either hip with a beautiful beaded accent panel inside, and the length of the front skirt is tastefully simple white satin while the back features gathered folds with beading. This is a strapless, full-length ball gown with tulle underneath. Purchased from Betsy Robinson’s Bridal (Pikesville MD) in 2007 and worn only once on the day of wedding. The dress can be bustled (I chose a royal bustle style to complement the draping of the back skirt detail) for the reception to create a stunning back with tiers & layers- color coded threads underneath to make tying easier. This dress has been professionally cleaned and preserved by Parkway Custom Drycleaning (the most well regarded wedding dress cleaning and preservation company in the DC Metro) and has been kept climate controlled since. Very few alterations at all, except for length (I am 5’10” and wore a 1” kitten heel) and cups were sewn into the bodice to avoid needing to wear a bra, plus the custom bustle strings added to the underside of the skirt. It’s gorgeous and timeless and I have no daughters, so it’s time to pass it on.
