The Dress

As much as it pains me to part with this dress, I know it will better serve someone on their wedding day than stay hung in my closet. Our wedding was in August 2023 and I bought this dress in the winter of 2022.

This dress was everything. It's more of a champagne than a blush, and the organza skirt fabric flowed like a dream. I got it with a custom neckline, which I think is more modern than the default one. It has a beautiful chiffon corset top with boning, and a delicate, couture chiffon detachable off-the-shoulder shrug/sleeves. This means you get 2 looks in 1! I wore the sheer sleeves for the ceremony and then took it off for the reception. I also have the Galia Lahav exact color-matching cathedral-length veil, which was so dramatic and ethereal.

This is an A-line dress with a long train, so it fits in the waist while still helping me feel like a modern, ethereal, edge fairy. The dress size label says 40, but I usually wear between a US size 2-4. There is some fabric still in the waist, so I think it can be let out a bit still.

There are some dirt marks on the edge of the train, but that's inevitable since the dress is so long. I can send more photos if there are any questions.

Alterations

- Took in the waist, ordered the dress with a custom modern neckline
- Added an american bustle with a fabric covered button with the excess dress fabric
- Hemmed to a height of 5'8" (I am 5'5" and wore 3" heels—open to selling the shoes too that match PERFECTLY, the Badgley Mischka Collection Blaze Pump 7.5M in color LATTE)
- Closed the slit so that it wasn't as high up to the waist
- Added a nude underskirt fabric so it wasn't as see-through
- Added cups to the top so I could go braless

Alterations cost me ~$900.
