The Dress

Drew dress from Rebecca Ingram's Olivia Collection with design alterations that make it one-of-a-kind (see alterations below). Beaded lace motifs cascade over a layer of Chantilly lace in this fit-and-flare wedding dress, featuring a V-neckline and V-back with illusion lace trim. Delicate scalloping along the neck and hem evokes elegant charm. Finished with crystal buttons over zipper closure.

This dress was a size 8 that was altered to fit a size 0 with specific measurements of: Bust 33.5"; Waist 25.75"; Hip 35".

Alterations: shortening the length of the straps; adding softer fabric under the straps to relieve pressure and lines; a deeper V-back; and a tucked train. The tucked train allowed for the entire train to remain in-tack during alterations and created a space for the bustle to hook and not be visible. Total value of alterations: $400.

Flaws: The lace detail at the bottom of the dress is slightly frayed after one night of wear, but could be lightly snipped and look as good as new. Also, the bustle would need to be redone.
