The Dress

Berta Bridal 14-03 dress purchased for £6,800, bought new from The Wedding Club in Knightsbridge, London.

The dress is absolutely stunning, with a striking plunging neckline and embellished with intricate beading and illusion lace. The dress comes in two parts: the bodice is a beautiful combination of lace and mesh, while the skirt is satin, with hand-stitched pearls and sequins.

I'm 1.68 cm tall, and at the wedding weighed 55 kg - which is a UK size 8-10 in stores. My cup size is C, but the bodice would easily fit someone with smaller cup sizes as well.

The dress was ordered at a size 40, and no size changes were needed except the hem, which was shortened so I could walk in it comfortably in heels.

The dress was also altered to add a small button on the skirt so that the train can be hooked up with three little fabric hoops. I asked for this so that I could make sure I could dance the night away :) The button is barely visibile when not in use, and very easy to attach the loops to.
