Bethany and Grant's wedding is full of beautiful personal touches. With Grant's carpentry skills and their beloved puppy this wedding day is full of warmth and love.
"Grant proposed on a warm summers night at the botanical gardens in Melbourne. We packed some cheese and wine and took our beloved puppy along. Grant was cool calm and collected the whole time. He got down on one knee and there was a beautiful diamond ring in his hands. The rest was a blur; there were a few tears, of joy of course. I couldn’t think of a more romantic and intimate way for it to happen.
I had tried quite a few on before I went to a Suzanne Harward trunk show. I knew what I wanted but just hadn’t found the right one. I took my mother and a couple of bridesmaids along to the trunk show at the Blackman hotel in Melbourne. It was such a lovely experience, made all the more special by finding my gown. We sipped on champagne and ate chocolates as I tried on dresses, but nothing could beat my sparkly gown!! The ladies at Suzanne Harward are just amazing to work with.
Our vendors were found from various websites (Hello May, the Lane) Instagram pages, and recommendations from friends. I did go to One Fine Day Wedding Fair in Melbourne, but by then I had already booked most of our vendors. It was still good to see so many of them there, and know that I had made the right decision! We didn’t have a theme as such, but our wedding included a lot of timber, crisp whites and pretty florals. It was definitely a celebration. While it had a traditional feel, it also had a party vibe.
Grant had lots of DIY projects as he is a carpenter! He made our bonboneries. Each guest received two wooden coasters tied with string. He also made our wishing well, which was a glass box with timber edges. He made our light box ‘its beautiful here’ and last but not least he made wooden boxes to house Train Trak wines which we gifted to our parents on the night.
I decided my dress is certainly too beautiful to be boxed away and never worn again. That’s why I have decided to sell it. Instead I plan on getting a wedding album made up from our photographer. That way I can always look back on pictures of the wonderful say that it was."
Bethany sold the dress featured in this story. The bride who bought the dress has it available for sale again on the link below.
