I love that this platform has so many users and that it’s a highly likely place for sellers to make a sale. I sold my first one!
However I found the site to be far less intuitive than most applications and websites these days. I had multiple questions throughout the process and wish there was more guidance in the selling process. Many of the buyers I communicated with didn’t know how anything worked on the site either so as the seller I felt it was my responsibility to provide answers to secure a sale. The process for calculating shipping is frustrating and made harder since buyers don’t automatically have their post codes listed in their inbox profiles.
When it came to selling, I had to go through the Payment FAQs multiple times to make sure I understood the process. If you are a seller, I believe there should be a guide on how payment works that is automatically provided and not sought out to understand. I put my listing on hold as I was prepared to sell to someone and wanted to stop the inbox inquiries from others, but the “Make an Offer” option is removed when an item is on pause. That doesn’t make sense to me! I had to contact the customer service center to learn why the button was not available (this is not covered in the FAQ section). Happily though, the customer service team made it easy to email them and they got back to me in less than 24 hours!
Overall, i love the platform for the reach to many customers and the ease of setting up a listing. But I was frustrated by how much time went into figuring out how to use the platform once my listing was live.
Will still sell again, especially now that I know what to do.
